RadioFrequency Ablation (RFA) is a minimally invasive treatment option in which obstructive tissues are reduced in a minimally-invasive fashion via the application of low-power radiofrequency energy. Radiofrequency treatments are available for the nasal (inferior turbinate) and oral (soft palate, tongue base, and tonsils) airways. Most RFA treatments can be performed in the office under local anesthesia. Recovery times are typically short, and post-procedural pain is typically mild. Like any procedure, Radiofrequency treatment is not for everyone. We would recommend that you discuss your symptoms with your Otolaryngologist so that he or she can help you find the best procedure to address your particular symptoms and anatomy.
